You’re Invited to Join Us!

You have the opportunity to help shape the future of your museum!

The Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia (BHMCC) is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its organization and 20 years in our current location in the Jackson Ward community of Downtown Richmond. Over three decades, we have been dedicated to telling the story of African descendants and their history in Virginia and beyond, through our exhibitions and public programming.

We invite you to join the BHMCC during our 150–day membership initiative from January 1, 2011 through June 1, 2011. See our links below for the membership form and a description of our membership categories and benefits. We encourage you to watch the slide presentation to learn more about the membership campaign and upcoming exhibits.

If your faith community or organization would like to participate in the campaign, a copy of the campaign letter with details of the campaign is posted for your convenience or you may contact Maureen Elgersman Lee, Executive Director, at 804-780-9093 or e-mail Mary Lauderdale, Museum Manager, at mclauderdale.bhm@gmail.com.

Whether you join online using our PayPal feature, send your membership form to the museum in the mail, or join through a campaign event in your faith community or organization, we are excited to have you become a new or renewing member of the BHMCC. Please include the name of your organization or faith community affiliation to help us acknowledge our campaign supporters.
